Book Bistro is a feature here on the blog where I share recipes found in books I’ve read or recipes inspired by characters in books I’ve read. I recently read The Lake Season by Hannah McKinnon and loved it, shouting a high recommendation for others to read it, too. In the book, Iris Standish works as a literary agent who has always wanted to write a book. Iris’s family has made a business from selling farm to table foods, so combining her literary background, her family’s business, and her best friend’s culinary expertise, she decides to co-write a cookbook with her best friend, Trish.
“A cookbook. With farm-to-table recipes, much in the spirit of our family business.”
“I added another on Crock-Pot dinners. Crock-Pots are a busy family’s saviors.”
This crock pot recipe, while not really a dinner recipe, is farm to table ready and inspired by Iris and Trish, who had a dream, chased after it, and caught it. The Apple Granola Breakfast Casserole looks to be the perfect dish to serve your overnight guests or for holidays. It’s easy enough to prepare the night before, and you will have a hot, healthy, and delicious breakfast ready and waiting for you in the morning. Bon Appétit!
And here’s the recipe…
Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the meal and the book. Bon áppetit!0
