I’m a pretty simple person and don’t ask for much, but is it too much to ask for a snow day when school is in session instead of having snow during my spring break? I mean, C’mon, Mother Nature. I’m hoping to fit in three books this week if Jupiter aligns with Mars and the moon is in the seventh house (cue ♫ It is the dawning of the age of Aquarius… ♪). I have a hair appointment this morning (Yay!) and the dentist this afternoon (ugh), and then it’s time to read. I received a book I’ve been excited to read after the glowing recommendation from Sarah @Sarah’s Bookshelves, and I’ll be starting a review book that was on my book club list later in the week. I underestimated my March reading goal, I think. If I finish these books, I’ll have already made my goal. That’s a good feeling.
Today, I’m starting…
I’ll be sharing the intro for Dead Letters tomorrow morning, and I’m just starting this one today, so I don’t have an opinion. I do have high expectations for this book, so let me know if you’ve read it.
Coming up next…
I’m fascinated that a man can survive living in the woods for over two decades without contact and through harsh winters. That’s enough to make me want to read The Stranger in the Woods. I’m excited to start Bear Town early, as a fan of the Fredrik Bachman’s books I’ve read.
I finished reading…
I loved both of these books. Neither was 5-star worthy for me, but they are both books I can recommend. The statements that Stolen Beauty is a book for art lovers is true, but it is also a solid book for anyone looking for a moving story that spans generations and continents and is mostly set during WWII in Austria. Idaho is so beautifully written and even though I’m left with a couple of unanswered questions, I was invested in the story and can recommend this one easily. I do have some issues with the audiobook that I probably wouldn’t have had with the e-book, but for a debut novel, this book is very, very good.
What are you reading this week?
