You know that excitement you get over a book and can’t wait to dig between the cover? And then something happens and the luster of that book fades away. In my case, life happened, and my yearning to dive deep into Behind Her Eyes took a back seat as the luster faded away in comparison. This week has been filled with taxes (my return still isn’t ready), grades, phone calls about the sale of my parents’ house, and whatever else could interfere. So, I’m giving it the ole college try again this week. Since my reading last week was zilch (big disappointment), I’m changing the lineup from last week to include a library hold that released for Stolen Beauty. I was hoping for an audio, but I’ll easily settle for the e-book. I love my library. Stolen Beauty wasn’t a library stock, so I recommended it. I was the first hold in the queue, and it was stocked lickity-split. Howcoolisthat? So, when the luster fades to read a book, what do you do? I put it on the next week’s list.
The roofing is finally finished after two months of noise. It’s peaceful again, but I’ll be happier after the clean-up is finished. The roofers didn’t use a dumpster, and shingles and nails are all over my yard and driveway. I’m expecting a flat tire any day now. On a better note, spring break is only two weeks away!
It’s Monday. What are you reading?
